Here’s the scenario: You have a brilliant new project—maybe it’s a new tap app in Telegram (or anything else, even a shawarma stand on the corner). Objective: Find investors who will fund it because right now you only have 1,000 Notcoins and big hopes of becoming a billionaire before the New Year! Who do investors typically give money to? 1. Experienced entrepreneurs who have already built a successful business and are likely to do it again. They are trusted based on their track record. 2. Those who have a small, functioning business and have a plan to scale it multiple times with the help of investments. In this case, it’s usually clear to investors: we invest X amount of money, and we get 2-3-10-100X in return. 3. Those who have a great idea in a very hyped market (AI a year ago, tapal apps three months ago). The market is growing like crazy, everyone is making money, investors are losing their minds, and they want to join the party too. If you don’t fit into any of the above categories, the only type of investors available to you is called FFF (Friends, Family, and Fools—your homework is to find who they are). If you don’t even have this option, your best bet is to gain experience for the first category: join a fast-growing project and become a leader there. If it becomes well-known, this experience will also count when attracting money, especially if you’re part of a whole team like that. Simply put, a team of people who were leaders at, say, Facebook, might be able to secure funding for a project like TON or something similar. What’s Happening in Tap Apps Over the past month, so much has happened in the telegram app market that I decided to take some time to reflect and share my conclusions with you. Obviously, the main news is the arrest of Pavel Durov and the uncertainty it brings to the future of Telegram. What if the (unlikely) scenario happens where he is imprisoned for a long time? Clearly, Telegram won’t be the same, and what will happen with its cryptocurrency is even less clear. As for TON and the entire ecosystem, it’s almost too unsettling to think what happens if Telegram were to suddenly shut down. But all of this is still purely theoretical. In practice, almost all tap apps have seen rapid declines throughout August. Dogs grew due to its listing and a few other apps aggressively acquiring users also saw some growth. It’s clear that people are tired of tapping in countless apps hoping for a listing (which is also unlikely). The DOGS listing slightly revived the market, but nowhere near the level that Notcoin did. What’s next? Most of those who entered the tap app market by chance and without experience will likely close down fairly soon (within 2-3 months). Serious players with resources will reformat their apps into games, gambling, and other long-term sustainable mechanics. There will definitely be new and exciting projects! What does all this mean for you as users of tap apps? First, lower your expectations of income—if something does drop, it will feel like a great win, but if not—no big deal. If you’ve already mentally spent this money on something, the disappointment could be quite unpleasant. Secondly, there are already clear patterns of successful projects—those who are generous with their users, have millions of users, and some connection to Telegram. Tap apps: Present and Future My colleagues and I have been discussing the current market situation, and I want to share a few thoughts. The Notcoin audience largely joined the project for fun and participated because they liked the project and the team ❤️ (this is partly confirmed by the fact that many sent a significant portion of their tokens to the project team for free at the end). 💪💪💪 After the Notcoin listing, when it became clear that many had profited from it, the audience for new projects skyrocketed. But these are different people - those who came purely for profit, not for fun. 💰💰💰 As a result, we see that a significant amount of Notcoin is not being sold because true fans of the project hold it. This will not be the case in new projects - most people will want to sell their tokens immediately after listing. And the founders understand this well. Moreover, Notcoin has shown a fairly clear plan for using the token and is consistently implementing it. I don’t see this yet (maybe it exists?) in the projects that are now heading towards listing (Tapswap, Hamster). ⚠️ What remains for the founders of these projects in such a situation is to play the game with withdrawal and sale restrictions, so that 100% of the mined tokens do not hit the market on the first day. 😡😡😡 What else follows from this? Most likely, the tokens of new projects that will be listed without a sustainable economy will collapse after listing (of the largest, this is almost all projects except possibly Blum, if it manages to launch its cryptocurrency exchange, which is not certain, as it’s very difficult). How to Become an Influencer? I've been asked this question many times. So, let's give it a try. Strangely enough, you'll need: 1. Content that other people want to consume (preferably something they like at least occasionally :)) 2. An audience That's basically it (you'll also need to figure out how to make money from it later, but let's start with something realistic 😂). **Content** What types of content can you create? 1. Informative (something interesting like news or history videos, for example) 2. Entertaining (you know what this is) 3. Truly useful - solving specific problems for people on your channel (e.g., psychological advice or math homework help) or teaching something that makes money - selling kidneys, mushroom picking, etc. How to choose? You need to do what you enjoy because you'll have to create A LOT of content, and doing something you don't enjoy for a long time just won't work. You'll figure this out after making about 30 posts/videos - you'll see what content you enjoy creating and what makes you nauseous after just two posts/videos. Ideally, you should be somewhat better at your topic than others (if not, learn! At the very least, retell books! I do this all the time 😂😂😂). Then, watch the audience's reaction and gradually improve your presentation. The easiest way at the beginning is to choose a popular blogger you like and borrow some of their solutions. Attracting an Audience Honestly, I don't know how to promote a blog from scratch and without money. I haven't tried it. I bought ads, and all the stories I know are the same. It's important to find very effective advertising - cheaply buy many subscribers or pay with your services or something else you do. This is the best option. For example, my first ad was done in gratitude for a business consultation (free, by the way!). And that's why I'm willing to help others for free: sooner or later, something incredibly awesome will come back to you ❤️ ❤️ ❤️. There are platforms that reward good content with promotion: TikTok, Twitter and YouTube (not sure about VK, maybe too). If you make great videos and people enjoy watching them: clicking on the thumbnail to watch (on YouTube), liking, commenting, and watching till the end - you'll be shown to a new audience. This is the best way for free promotion, but on YouTube, you'll still need some initial traffic (see above). Telegram - is more for retaining the audience and informing about new videos or paid content on platforms like Boosty, Patreon. It's practically impossible to get a really large audience here for free - only the first hundred subscribers among friends. Obviously, there's also Discord (also more for retention) and streaming platforms - they are for attracting an audience. Hamster Combat Tokenomics I came across the White Paper of Hamster Combat in a friendly channel and I want to comment on one table. Do you know what vesting is? It's the period during which tokens are unlocked (yes, they will initially be yours, but you won't be able to do anything with them - neither sell nor anything else, they will be LOCKED). So, according to the table, the vesting period for player tokens is set at 25 months (i.e., the tokens will gradually unlock over 2 years). Meanwhile, tokens for influencers (KOL in the table) will be unlocked immediately (the unlock starts one month after listing and will be fully unlocked within 3 months). So, while there is high demand at the start, influencers will dump their coins into the market, and then there will be a constant influx of coins from users wanting to sell their tokens, which will drive the price down each month. Perhaps there will be something about the token that will create a constant demand and stabilize the price (honestly, I don't know yet).
