So I was re-reading the Art of War by Sun Tzu and it’s written that you MUST know yourself and know your enemy too. Apparently, if you don’t know yourself or your enemy, you’ll be conquered. This might seem like an insipid notion but it’s actually very substantial: It’s telling us that if we’re going to win, we have to know what we are and what our enemy is. A skilled enemy will (and currently does) make great efforts to try to prevent us from knowing this. So don’t be hoodwinked by equality slogans.
