Hey folks,
Thank you for such a great response to Dfyn testnet on the opening day and thank you for your patience.
As you all are aware that we are facing some issues on the Dfyn v2 testnet which is leading to users not being able to complete their tasks.
What is the issue?
We rely on 3rd party service subgraph to show the details of the pools, limit orders and order book on the UI. However, the service was not able to take the load being generated during the testnet and started slowing down and eventually failing. This led to the UI becoming slow and gradually not returning anything on the limit order and pool pages.
Next Steps
We plan to pause the testnet for now while we come up with a solution to tackle this problem. We will be moving away from subgraph and look for creation of our own service which can handle the load and scale as the number of transactions and users increase on the platform.
What happens to the points which I earned today?
When we resume the testnet we will consider the points earned by anyuser today as well into the day 1 of when the testnet is resumed. Rest assured, we will try to keep the whole testnet fair to all the users who have come and tried it out.
For example, if you made 100 points out of 175 and then when the network restarts - on the first day of the network restart, you will already have 100/175 points completed and you will just need to complete the remaining ones.
When does the testnet resume?
Unfortunately, we can't give you a date today. But we will keep you guys updated as we build a better solution to solve the scalability problem faced due to subgraph.
