Weekly BD Update - 5th August Hello again DRONE GANG! the WEEKLY UPDATE is here... 1️⃣ BATTLE DRONES TEAM VIDEO We have been to creating a short behind the scenes video, showcasing the talent and philosophy behind the team and their respective areas of expertise. Communicating some of the purpose beneath the product we are creating is very important, especially towards the release of our first gaming experience! Weekly BD Update - 29th July What's going on DRONES! As usual, your WEEKLY UPDATE is here... 1️⃣ PLATFORM SPECIFIC TESTING & PATCHING A few issues have come up on specific platforms, preventing players from signing in to their account (allowing their stats and progress to be recorded). This led us to test functionality on different devices and different platforms to ensure everyone can easily log on and have fun in Red Rock! 2️⃣ ANIMATION POLISHING There are a wide variety of A-EYE enemy types swarming Red Rock. They may look mostly similar due to limitations with A-EYE's manufacturing intelligence, however they can be very threatening! We spent some time polishing up the way the enemy characters move and attack - in order to make them more distinguishable. small changes like this inject more life into the game world, even if it is A-EYE... Weekly BD Update - 22nd July Greetings DRONE GANG! Here's your UPDATE... 1️⃣ MARKETING CONTENT We've begun planning and development of marketing content to reinforce the launch of our mobile game. This content has been crafted with specific audiences in mind, maximizing our outreach and effectiveness around release! 2️⃣ LATE STAGE GAME BALANCING Reaching the late stages of BATTLE DRONES: Red Rock Resistance takes a respectable level of combat skill. We want skilled players to experience a significant challenge, pushing them to utilize everything Red Rock has to offer. Testing this stage of the game is difficult due to the higher chance of failure, especially when accommodating for players of a higher skill level. Here's the WEEKLY UPDATE... 🛠 MARKETING STRATEGY & MESSAGING As we near closer to release, it is important to market the game to both the crypto/web3 enthusiasts and gamers alike. This multi-pronged approach requires unique content geared towards each persons values and perspectives. Marketing the same product to multiple audiences is tricky and time consuming, however we've created a solid plan to maximise interest of both parties. Weekly BD Update - 8th July Hello again fellow DRONES! Another WEEKLY UPDATE for you all... 1️⃣ WEB3NZ EVENT The BATTLE DRONES team attended a local web3 event here in Auckland. Creating a strong local community and network will be extremely useful for us approaching release of our upcoming mobile game. We had a blast connecting with people who share our passion for crypto and the future of gaming! 2️⃣ THE WORK NEVER STOPS When it comes to game development, the final touches are often the most laborious! The game is in a great place, however we won't release it without being sure it's the exact level of quality we're looking for, EXCELLENT QUALITY. Small tweaks are still being made to balancing weapons, economy and enemy spawn systems - all crucial components that when tweaked, can have a big effect on gameplay. Weekly BD Update - 1st July Howdy there DRONE GANG! Here's the weekly update for you all... 1️⃣ FINAL BALANCING AND BUG FIXING We have been spending as much time as possible doing final tests on the game to ensure there are no game breaking bugs upon release. Also due to feedback on the difficulty of the game, we are also tweaking the balance to ensure the widest range of players can enjoy the experience. The final tweaks are very important when aiming for perfection! 2️⃣ OUR MISSION This week has led to conversations on how we can most effectively communicate to our community and the web3 space, how our product stands out from the rest. This should be clear upon release of the game - however with the understanding that we want to capture people beyond the sphere of gaming, we believe clear communication of our purpose within the crypto market will be crucial to massive success. Weekly BD Update - 17th June What's up DG! Back again with the WEEKLY UPDATE! 1️⃣ USER INTERFACE/GRENADE FUNCTIONALITY Throwable weapons are a great way to mix up the combat and add a more tactile and physics based feeling in shooter games, so we really wanted them to be an important feature in* Red Rock Resistance*. Working this into a mobile title was a challenge given the nature of touch screen controls was a challenge we ticked off the list this week, on top of the bug fixing we've been continuing to do, it's been a great week of game development for us! 2️⃣ LAUNCH TRAILER AND GAME AD DEVELOPMENT We've been going hard creating some video content to be released alongside the game launch to tickle the interest of new audiences and give our community a little more of a taste of what to expect in the full release. We aim to show off the game at early, mid, and late stages of the experience without giving too much away... Stay tuned for more content soon! Weekly BD Update - 10th June Greetings DRONE GANG! Here's your update for the week... 1️⃣ ADDING AND TWEAKING SFX After feedback from game testing we decided that adding and tweaking our current sound effects would be a great way to spice up the gameplay loop and give players positive feedback when accomplishing feats of gaming prowess. Small details like the triumphant note chiming in at the exact moment all enemies have been defeated in a wave can go a long way to create a sense of satisfaction in the player and keep them coming back for more! 2️⃣ SOLANA ECOSYSTEM MEETUP Our core team of founders attended the Solana ecosystem meeting in Auckland last Friday to expand our network and get to know the local adopters of crypto in New Zealand. It was a fantastic experience where we got to talk about the game and learn about some developments in Solana that will certainly help in our mission of mainstream adoption of web3 gaming! I hope we're doing well, here's this week's update! 🎮 MOBILE GAME TIPS AND TUTORIAL MODE After receiving feedback on the mobile version of the game from various demographics, one thing became very clear. We needed to create a tutorial mode to explain controls and combat / exploration mechanics in order for players to feel well equipped to experience the curve of progression, and explain how we can explore the detailed environments containing many secrets of within the BATTLE DRONES lore... Weekly BD Update - 27th May What's going on DRONE SQUADRON?! 🎮 FINAL BOSS WAVE BALANCING & TWEAKING We've been focusing on the boss battle that players will encounter late in the game, once they have amassed a sizeable arsenal to help them survive an intense wave. We had to ensure the design of the boss battle was equally as comprehensive on both Mobile. Due to the nature of wave-based games, making this boss a challenge whilst maintaining reasonable survivability was tricky - as we don't want any perma-death related frustration at the hands of an unfairly powerful boss! Weekly BD Update - 13th May Hello again DRONE GANG Here's a quick update for ya! 1️⃣ GAME TESTING FEEDBACK We have sourced feedback from both internal and external sources on how we can make the game more engaging for both seasoned and casual gamers. This will be an ongoing process and may lead to a few developmental worm cans, however we are more than confident in the changes we have decided to implement and show off on release! 2️⃣ TIMELINE We have been receiving many questions on the timeline of our token release, this is great as we love to see the anticipation and engagement around a huge milestone for us. The token release is very important and can be influenced by several factors behind the scenes, an educated approach to this timeline is crucial for us as an internal team and our community. Weekly BD Update - 29th April Hello DRONE GANG Here's this week's UPDATE... 1️⃣ GAME TESTING/BUG FIXING As community game testing is underway, our internal team has also been clocking in hours on the mobile release of Red Rock Resistance to make the most of this time finding anything that could hurt or hinder a gamers experience. Thank you for helping us game test! 2️⃣ STRATEGIC PLANNING We have come away from the Token2049 event with a fresh perspective on the web3 landscape and our path ahead within the space. Here's your weekly UPDATE... 1️⃣ TOKEN2049 The BATTLE DRONES team recently attended token 2049 in Dubai ahead of the mobile release of our upcoming game; BATTLE DRONES: Red Rock Resistance. Despite unforeseen and unfortunate weather events, It was a great experience for our team. Networking and deepening our understanding of the space were then keys to our future success and we've come away with a renewed outlook and vision for our path ahead, stay tuned... 2️⃣ GAME TESTING PHASE TWO We opened up a new round of testing for anyone who may have missed phase one. We've had some great traction so far and cant wait to get deep into all the feedback and stats for us to analyze. Weekly BD Update - 8th April What's goin on FELLERS! Let's start the week with a good old update... 1️⃣ INTERACTION INPUT LAG FIXED We encountered an issue in testing relating to input lag when trying to interact with certain objects, including ammo air-drops and meteoroid fragment power-ups. It's crucial for a player to be able to access these items when caught in a sticky gameplay situation, however a tiny amount of input lag was making these scenarios that much more difficult. We have since reduced the time it takes to collect resources from these interactable objects giving more power to the player in these tense moments. 2️⃣ GAMEPLAY BALANCING With community testing coming up we've been exploring ways to greatly improve the gameplay loop with minor adjustments. we've further tweaked a few key variables such a specific weapon damage, in-game economy and even the speed of certain enemies and attacks, finding the right balance of accessible, challenging and rewarding. Weekly BD Update - 1st April HAPPY EASTER high flying folk! The weekly update has just arrived... 1️⃣ TOUCH CONTROL / GAMEPLAY FUNCTIONALITY We've been fine tuning functionality surrounding certain gameplay actions and how they work on a touch screen device, mainly surrounding the aiming and throwing of grenades. These actions need to feel responsive and precise whilst also remaining as small an on-screen button as possible to avoid cluttering the user interface. 2️⃣ USER INTERFACE TUNING This week we've reworked all mobile / touchscreen UI to work universally on devices small and large from account creation to in-game menus.
